Joint CEF-MCD Webinar on IMF's Regional Economic Outlook for MENA: Building Resilience and Fostering Sustainable Growth

The International Monetary Fund-Middle East Center for Economics and Finance (IMF-CEF) and the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department (MCD) held a joint webinar titled “IMF’s Regional Economic Outlook for MENA: Building Resilience and Fostering Sustainable Growth" on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Mr. Moez Souissi, Deputy Director of the CEF, gave the opening and moderated the event. Mr. Hasan Dudu presented the key takeaways from Chapter 1: Building Resilience and Fostering Sustainable Growth. Ms. Karmen Naidoo presented on Chapter 2: From Setbacks to Comebacks: Reforms to Build Resilience and Prosperity. Mr. Thomas Pointek discussed the main findings of Chapter 3: Higher for Longer: What are the Macrofinancial Risks? The floor then opened for a discussion during the Q&A session with a diverse audience comprised of public sector officials, academics, and representatives of the business community, civil society, and other international organizations. In closing, Mr. Moez thanked the speakers for sharing their insights from the Regional Economic Outlook for MENA and audience members for the lively discussions.
